Saturday 28-November-2017 is Sculptor's 82nd birthday

Sculptor - a boat built by boat builders rather than a boat built by ship builders - and so much more elegant for that.

Sculptor is a 'Star' class boat named for the Sculptor Constellation
Sculptor on ITV Anglia - 22-September-2014

About

I am indebted to the following people for their help with understanding Sculptor and former working boats in general:

Brian Collings:
  • Brian is the former manager of the Canal Museum in Stoke Bruerne and is very fond of Sculptor.  Brian's knowledge and advice has been very helpful to me in putting this blog together.
David Blagrove:
  • David is passionate about Sculptor and all the former working boats we now enjoy seeing on our waterways.  David is an historian, has spent time on working boats as is a former teacher.
Mike Partridge:
  • Mike formerly operated Jubilee as a coal boat on the Stoke Bruerne to Warwick run and shares his knowledge and experience freely.
The Sculptor team:
  • Currently that is Richard Cox, Tom Stewart, Rob Westlake, Trevor Allum, Bill Mann, Mike Gardner, Steve Dean and I suppose myself (Kathryn Dodington - I just try and oil the wheels between CRT who own Sculptor and the team from The Friends of The Canal Museum who undertake the work required to keep Sculptor going and take her to as many events as possible each year).
And finally:
  • Emma Hermon and Louise Stockwin of CRT who facilitate things for us to make sure everything works as it should.
